The first Prabhassorn Vidhaya School buildings were built in 1967 on what was originally rice paddy fields. Mr. Chit and Ms. Payao Tanpraphat founded the school with the objective of encouraging younger generation to use their knowledge and abilities to develop society. The school was first opened in 1968 for kindergarten learners up to Grade 7 under the management of Dr. Uraiwan Tanpraphat, the first principal. In 1940, a new building was constructed for supporting kindergarten and Junior High School students. Prabhassorn has continued to develop its curriculum for more than 50 years. The school received support from The Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST) as an eastern science laboratory and learning community. Currently, the school is certified educational quality at a high level.
Prabhassorn Vidhaya School is an outstanding school focusing on encouraging students’ various abilities based on the theory of multiple intelligences. We have a great effort to facilitate our students with a chance to develop their talents and we believe that school should be a place that provides happiness to learners and makes them feel valuable. Now, PBS provides 3 levels of education which are Kindergarten, Elementary, and Junior High School. The school has realized the significance of globalization and prepares students to be ready for the future workplaces and prepared for changes in society that may come about.
In 2022, the school aims to focus on language development in line with the changes of the development of Eastern region. This will be achieved by expanding the Intensive English Program (IEP) curriculum to include Kindergarten, Grade 3, and Grade 9. The program will focus on English and Chinese languages for communication learning. Moreover, for future prospects within 2022. Prabhassorn School will improve the Intensive English Program (IEP) as an option for students at all levels.
In 2021, the school has focused on developing language skills to be in line with the changes of the development of Eastern region. Hence, the school decided to expand Intensive English Program: IEP to cover Kindergarten, Grade 2, and Grade 8 with a focus on English and Chinese language for communication purposes and expected that within 2022, the school will adjust the Intensive English Program: IEP as an alternative option for students at all levels.
In the academic year 2020, Prabhassorn Vidhaya School developed the MEC (Mini English Chinese Program) curriculum for students from Grade 1 to Grade 6 and also adjusted the IEC (Intensive English Chinese Program) curriculum for students in Grades 7-9. The school also introduced an Intensive English Program (IEP) for kindergarten and Grade 10. In addition, the school constructed a dome-shaped building to facilitate students
Prabhassorn Vidhaya School has been awarded the first prize from Candle Parade Competition, 2019 which organized by The Young Buddhists Association. The director of the school joined the development project encourage network of learning between Prabhassorn Vidhaya School, Da Feng Che, Wifort School in Liaojo, China, and DON MARIANO MARCOS MEMORIAL STATE UNIVERSITY, PHILIPPINES (DMMMSU).
Prabhassorn Vidhaya School, Chonburi, has been honored with a certificate from the provincial governor of Chonburi, organized by the Provincial Education Office, as a model school for continuous and linking curriculum with the regional education level. The project aims to promote the communities to develop models and guidelines for continuous and linking curriculum between basic education, vocational education, and higher education.
The school started using the new school building in 2017. The Mini English Program (MEP) is a curriculum for Grade 1-6 while The Intensive English and Chinese (IEC) course is a curriculum for high school. In 2017 the school received insignia from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn from the project of “Bannoi Vidhayasart, Thailand” 2018-2020 at National Science and Technology Fair, Impact Arena.
The school began construction on a new four-story building for Mini English Program (MEP) and Intensive English and Chinese (IEC) program classrooms as well as a new library. The building is divided into zones: kid zone, computer rooms, auditorium, music room, language rooms, mechanic workshop, administrative office, and education development department.
Our student: Kongklang Phoruk, got 100% O-NET score in Mathematics. The school also won The Candle Parade contest 2015. This was a collaboration project between Young Buddhist Association of Thailand Under the Royal Patronage and Chonburi Province Cultural Office. Prabhassorn Vidhaya School also won the first runner-up from Thailand ICT Youth Challenge 2015 run by The Ministry of Information and Communication Technology. Prabhassorn Vidhaya School received a silver medal from the Institute of Physical Education and Sports for the “Wonderful Milk” project. The year closed with the school band joining a marching band contest for the royal trophy from Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn at Supachalasai Stadium.
The school won The Candle Parade Contest 2014 and also won elementary science project competition: “Shake to Change” during The National Science Week at Science Center for Education in Bangkok. Sadly, we lost a beloved teacher: Tatsanee Bamrungrad from an accident on Tuesday 9th December 2014.
Landscaping and improvements were made to the campus and a new and larger cafeteria was opened for use in anticipation for the expansion of ASEAN community in 2015.
The school was assessed and passed for the third round of visits by The Office of National Education Standards and Quality Assessment. At present, Prabhassorn Vidhaya School offers education from the early childhood level to grade 10.
The kindergarten buildings were renovated, the cafeteria and the old school buildings were improved. An equipped playground was added to promote learning and development of students. Chinese courses were introduced at all levels and in the same year, the school was also chosen as a pilot school to use as Basic Education Curriculum 2008 by the Ministry of Education.
PBS invested in improvements to the campus and swimming pool. New school uniform was introduced at the same time. The school was evaluated for a second time for Standard Education by the College of Education and passed all standard evaluation criteria. In addition, the school is regarded as an institution with best practices in the design of integrated learning processes by the Ministry of Education and joined a research project to experiment with learning styles that are student-centered initiated by the Secretariat of the Educational Institution (SorKhorSor.)
In February 2000, PBS passed certification of standard quality education by the Ministry of Education.
Our school board recognized the importance of vocational education in line with changes and development of the industrial Eastern Economic Corridor. The College of Technology was established for Grade 9 students, while the number of high school students were consistently decreasing.
